Cultivators personal and commercial should be given protection options over premises and produces grown. Which can be deduced from licensing fees , sort of an incentive given back from the government. Additionally be able to sue local/ private banks and insurance companies for discrimination of cultavaion practices .

It needs to be enforced that personal use is just intened for that. They should not be retailing product. If you allow persons to have a lot a pot for personal use, who are retailers going to sell to? How much weed does one actually need for personal use? I'm reading some of these comments, and quite truthfully most of the commentors sound like femurs themselves. I'm just saying.

@Nicke Smith Femurs? Large thigh bones? You or anyone else have no right to dictate how much herb someone should or shouldn't have, neither should government. Some people want to juice raw cannabis, a dietary essential, some smoke large amounts, some cook with it. There are no limitations for dangerous products so NO. You need to emancipate your mind from mental slavery. I'm just saying.

Offences for consuming or distributing cannabis within 1/2 mile radius of schools should be monetary fines or subject to drug treatment court.

GOOD DAY BERMY 🙂
HOW MANY GENERATIONS HAVE TO BE IGNORED UNTIL CANNABIS AND CANNABIS SUPPORTERS, DEFENDERS OF TRUTH AND RIGHTS ARE RESPECTFULLY LISTENED TO, HEARD AND HONORED REGARDING THE NEED FOR CANNABIS LEGALIZATION?!
WHEN YOU SAY, "LET'S HEAR IT FROM THE YOUTH/CHILDREN." EACH GENERATION IGNORED IS THAT CHILD. SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER THE AGE OF A PERSON SPEAKING TURTHS/FACTS ON A MATTER.
ALL EACH GENERATION IS DOING IS REGURGITATION. EACH GENERATION IGNORED OF THE PLEA FOR LEGALIZATION IS A ONCE WAS A CHILD WHO WITNESSED THE MERRY-GO-ROUND EFFECT; THE SAME ARGUMENTS OVER AND OVER. MEANING THE OPPOSERS HAVE BEEN ARGUIG THE SAME THING OVER THE MANY YEARS AND THE DEFENDERS HAVE BEEN PREACHING AND TEACHING THE SAME THINGS OVER THE MANY YEARS.
IS THIS A GAME?! EMOTIONAL GAME?! INTELLECTUAL GAME?!
THE "YOUNG BLACK BERMUDIAN MEN" THAT THIS INITIATIVE WAS SAID TO BE INSPIRED BY ARE ALREADY SUGGESTING LEGALIZATION BY THIER ALREADY ACTIVE ENJOYMENT OF CANNABIS.
THEN ON THE OTHER HAND SAYING YOU WANT THESE SAME "YOUNG BLACK BERMUDIAN MEN" WHO ARE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST IN THE "9-5" WORLD TO PAY SUCH HEFTY FEES TO BE ALLOWED TO ENJOY CANNABIS, NOT ALLOWED TO PROFIT, CAN'T HAVE GANJA AROUND THIER CHILD/CHILDREN, AND STILL CAN BE ARRESTED BECAUSE CANNABIS IS ATTACHED TO THE DRUGS ACT, AND STILL BE WATCHED AND CHECKED ON BY "THE MAN" TOO?! 🤔 SEEMS SKETCHY🧐

CANNABIS IS NOT "MIND ALTERING" IN THE NEGATIVE CONNOTATIVE SENSE OF THE WORDS. RATHER CANNABIS AFFECTS INDIVIDUALS DIFFERENTLY AND WILL FOR SURE MAKE EVERY INDIVIDUAL AWARE OF THEIR THINKING HABITS/PATTERNS OR THE LACK THERE OF. I.E: ESPECIALLY WHEN SMOKED.
SELF CONTROL IS KEY REFFERING TO KNOWING THYSELF IS KEY!
EDUCATION IS KEY. SO IF YOU'RE A "WEAK MINDED" INDIVIDUAL/AND OR HAVE PARANOIA ISSUES IT'S SUGGESTED THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM SMOKING CANNABIS AND INJEST IT ANOTHER WAY IF SO CHOOSE TO BENEFIT FROM THE BENEFITS OF CANNABIS ALSO IF YOU STILL DESIRE TO SMOKE CANNABIS WITH NO AWARENESS OF YOUR REACTION THAN IT'S SUGGESTED THAT YOU TRY WITH AN EXPERIENCED CANNABIS USER.
EDUCATION IS KEY. DIFFERENT STRAINS ALSO LET YOU KNOW TO BE STILL AND RELAX OR GET UP, BE MOTIVATED AND ACTIVE.

Has Government taken into consideration road safety? Bermuda’s roads are already too dangerous. Marijuana is a mind altering substance just like alcohol is. With that being a fact how are we preventing further accidents and deaths on our roads when individuals can go into a store, get high and then drive just like going into a bar, get drunk and drive? Has Government made results of research or studies on this matter available to the public so the public can make informed decisions? Has Government considered the affects of marijuana smoke on childrens’ developing brains? Have they made results of research or studies on this matter available to the public? If there are affects or any doubt as to affects then children should not be subjected to it. Likewise, they certainly shouldn’t be passengers in vehicles of people who are high. Where are the voices for the children?

@Toni Damato No one is suggesting children should be allowed to smoke cannabis. The effects of cannabis are not the same as alcohol, they each affect the brain in different ways, one thing is for sure you don't need studies to know the havoc liquor causes on the roads yet you can legally operate a vehicle with kids in it after drinking if your level is under 0.8. What amount of cannabis in the system should be the allowable legal amount? There are laws currently on the books to convict people driving under the influence of cannabis and drugs like cocaine, heroin, meth etc. but there is zero tolerance. Ask any child if they think a system that allows the use of deadly, highly addictive drugs legally but prosecutes people for a beneficial plant that has never killed a soul makes any sense at all, I know what the answer would be, you're right we need to hear the voices of the children.

How will those who step out of the new constructs(old remnants)of the law fare?
With this proposal, as it stands, will come a myriad of new laws, regulations and taxes, along with ministers , advisory boards, policing and all sorts of red tape and confusing legislation. To me, and, I'm sure to many others. that is an offence.
Any less than full legalization, along with the necessary removal of all restrictions and laws surrounding this plant, and expunging records, is just a continuation of the same deplorable piece of legislation that has haunted us for years.
