These regulations are well intentioned but are a drastic overreach. Species that are already established here and self propagating should not be included in the scope of this regulation. Under these regs; I will be forced to inventory all listed species, such as Mexican pepper, Indian laurel, Chinese fan palms that grow on my property. I will not be allowed to grow seeds from my own plants to re-grow a hedge. For plants that are already established here, these regulations are just making everyone a criminal, for no purpose. I also object to the fact that we are are only being asked to comment on very narrow questions, not on the general suitability of the regulations as a whole. Such a wide reaching regulation should be required to engage in meaningful public consultation. not 9 comments on a hard-to-find forum!

I should not be penalized for having a Chinese fan palm on my property. They are managed and controlled and are an amenity. Similarly, I have a cherry hedge on the boundary which has been there for 60 years. It provides a good visual barrier as well as a wind barrier. I also enjoy the fruit. It is managed and constrained, so I see no valid reason why being in possession of this hedge should make me a criminal. These should not be class A species.

I am professional blogger and I am also SEO consultant at https://transmediadesign.org/.
I would exclude the foxtail and Sprengeri asparagus fern (in the A-listed asparagus family) because they are lovely and ornamental, and do not strangle other plants the way the common asparagus fern/lace fern does. I know that they can become invasive, but I think they look great.
The agaves and pothos and sansevieria trifasciata should not be prohibited at all - they are ornamental and well suited to areas with wind/salt water with few other options.
Kiskadees as they were the wrong bird to begin with. We were supposed to get the social flycatcher to do what their name says for our crops. They were mistaken as they look just Kiskadees just smaller. Kiskadees have wreaked havoc on other species like the bluebird, skinks and lizards for decades and they need to go. And keep getting rid of lionfish.
All should stay if they are not invasive. Those that are wreaking havoc like the Mexican pepper tree and others need to be removed as they are causing other natural specimens to fase out.
