Bermuda Capital Accumulation Plan

From "Suggestions to stimulate economic recovery for Bermudians once Shelter in Place ends"

Go to the project

·       Local Business investment

Invest in and expand viable Bermudian owned private and public businesses into worldwide companies and franchises.

The more product the businesses buy at wholesale the cheaper the goods which should lower costs to consumers. Selling to bigger markets diversifies the income streams of these businesses that will make them more resilient to changes in the local economy.

With this plan we grow the local business economy while lowering prices because we are selling at scale around the world which should enable lower buy @ prices for products and services.

Bermudians can get jobs abroad in Bermudian owned companies.

·       International business investment

Invest in businesses that are poised to lead the future with new technologies like renewable energy, hemp and cannabis Businesses,AI, robotics and self driving technology. Like Tesla, Apple etc..

A percentage of funds from investments and ventures should  be directed towards a “universal basic housing, food and income scheme”

This plan helps the Bermuda economy by creating a funnel of funds into the country.

“Act locally but think globally”

·       Education Grants

Make grants available to Bermudians aged 18-40 so those interested can gain the skills to effectively run and work for local and international businesses.

Government should gain more in payroll tax dollars locally from the increased wages paid to Bermudians.

This plan grows  the skills and standards of living for people of this community and helps Bermudians at home and abroad through education, and career placement.

·       Duty free holiday for businesses

Allow businesses a one time 3 month duty free window.

This should stimulate economic activity because the duty holiday would entice business importers to overstock, Because they will be overstocked at a lower cost . The businesses out of their own good will can pass on savings to customers.

This should increase economic activity because persons will have saved funds that they can now spend on other products or services that are local only.

·       Duty Free Imports for Homeowners on construction supplies, fittings and appliances for renovations or remodel.

This will encourage homeowners to upgrade their properties which will lead to economic activity by way of funds paid to painters, maintenance and construction workers. Homeowners could gain by having higher home valuations from upgrades.

·       Build businesses to the needs of government. Ex. Create businesses local and abroad to replace current suppliers of Government necessities like products and outsourced services with Bermudian owned suppliers so that Bermudian tax dollars go to Bermudian Businesses.

·       Government Can guarantee the purchase of land for Bermudians in Bermudians favorite vacation spots like Florida, Jamaica and Atlanta so that when any Bermudian travels we can AirBnb Bermudian owned properties which keeps our dollars in a closed loop. When Bermudians aren’t occupying these properties they will be AirBNB to any persons vacationing in those areas creating passive income for Bermudians.

Land usually holds its value and less risk if guarantees fail to pay. Government can reclaim the property and allow another Bermudian to takeover the property under a new agreement.

Bermudians will get higher percentage return on their investment than investing with traditional businesses.

·       Build Residential Parks & Retail outlets

Government guarantees the purchases of the land for Bermudian entrepreneurs to build housing developments and retail and wholesale businesses and franchises.

Florida

Atlanta

Jamaica

Africa

·       Hemp, Cannabis & Agriculture Farming

Buy land in Africa  to grow hemp, Cannabis and food to export to Bermuda and other Markets.

We can pay Africans Better wages and still have Cheaper labor compared to majority of regions around the world.

Cheaper land

Cheaper maintenance

Cheaper electricity

Fund the development of manufacturing centers in Africa for Bermudian owned enterprises which they can use to manufacture branded products made from hemp, Cannabis and foods grown, prepared and packaged to be sold in Bermuda and markets around the world.

“You make your money when you buy not when you sell”

Why just create expansive Bermuda grown cannabis on limited land when we can buy acres and acres of land in Africa (that’s not in any proximity to schools and other areas that may be restricted)

This will help decrease the cost of fresh produce and cannabis for Bermuda based consumers. Local wholesalers and retailers will be purchasing goods from Bermudian owned businesses based in Africa.

This plan would make every Bermudian feel invested with local and international Businesss that we share investments and partnerships with. Their success now becomes our success.

Some good suggestions re investing outside of Bermuda but still being owned by Bermudians.
Investing outside of Bermuda is long overdue.. Our ancestors owned and operated Salt mines in Turks & Caicos. Being able to have an option as a Bermudian to work and thrive in another country/culture is an experience that all Bermudians should have.
