Closure relief for small businesses

From "Suggestions to stimulate economic recovery for Bermudians once Shelter in Place ends"

Go to the project

Similar to the unemployment benefit for employees, offer small businesses (less than 10 employees) a stimulus of $500-$1000 a week for 12 weeks. No strings, no convoluted application process. This would go a long way to the smaller businesses staying open once allowed to reopen.

Conversely - government could forgive any outstanding payroll taxes due from small businesses - set it at 0 from April 1.

Private pension mandatory contributions should be allowed to be suspended for a period of 1 year without having to have been current with payments.
