Heavily opposed to dissolution of the Corporations!
Governments the world over tend to be bloated, inefficient and largely ineffectual. Bermuda Government is no different. Let the Corporations continue to manage their own affairs.
As an aside, I would love to see the CoH collect outstanding parking fines owed to it. Not sure what the problem is really, but would hope it's not the result of a breakdown in communication between Government and the CoH. Collecting your fines and using the money to invest in the City's infrastructure seems like a no-brainer to me.

As a proud St. Georgian...I am very strongly opposed. The government hasn't demonstrated the ability to run "itself" effectively. Growing the government.... is the LAST thing they should be considering.

Leave the corporations as they are! They operate very efficiently, if government takes over it would be detrimental to the rate payers and the over upkeep of the cities.

I cannot imagine a worse idea. The Town and the city function quite well because they can focus on the direct needs, respond and plan effectively . There is no need often to deal with the civil servants up the administrative ladder. The reasonably efficient municpalitires will get "mashed in" with other Gov functions which does not mean more efficient.

I am opposed to dissolving the Corporations / Hamilton &
St. George's. The Government has enough issues to handle and should leave the Town and the City to the capable, elected officials.

I strongly oppose the above option. Both Corporations do an amazing job at running their town/city and have been doing it for so long, they know what is best for their rate payers and residents. Dissolving the Corporations would be a mistake.

I do not support this idea either. Initiatives such as this should originate with the city taxpayers themselves, not from a self serving body I.e. government. One should immediately be suspect when an initiative is not originating at the grass roots level. Restore the corporations to their self governing status and government, get on with creating jobs and growing the economy

I strongly oppose this motion for myriad reasons. Local government is key to efficient operations. The smaller an organization is kept, the better its chances of remaining effective.

I am opposed to dissolving the Corporations, repealing the Municipalities Act and integrating the corporations functions into Government's admin structure. The Government appear to have difficulty maintaining and operating what they are responsible for currently. Leave the Corporations alone and allow them the authority and flexibility to operate their respective towns as they see fit to the benefit of Bermuda. They appear to be doing a fairly decent job.
