Why is it still necessary to advertise in The Royal Gazette for a work permit now that the job board exists?
The costs of a newspaper ad are considerable and it is a strict requirement that the ad an the job board listing must match.
Considerable extra detail about the role can be provided on the job board however doing so substantially increases the costs of the ad.
Why is the ad necessary?

@Dinah Sinnock then post a daily printout of jobs from the job board in the Workforce development office and post offices through the island.
The RG is expensive to advertise in and you still need to either have internet or buy the paper daily to view the jobs themselves. Its not necessary or convenient

@Dinah Sinnock Many people do not read the paper either ... I advertised recently, at considerable expense and several people said they did not know about the job vacancy, as they don't read the paper. They only read the Job Board.
