I am completely against your proposal to allow judge only trials, for several reasons, namely --
It is far easier to corrupt or bribe 1 judge, than a jury of 12
And in the recent 2023-2025 investigations of puisne judge Nicole Stoneham, looking at potential bias issues, she received initially a committee to investigate potential bias, and a committee is by definition a group of people. Then judge Stoneham received a tribunal at which a group of senior jurists investigated her potential bias. Thus, if a judge being investigated for potential bias, received not one but two groups of people to look at her case, then the public of Bermuda absolutely 100% require and need and must have a jury of their peers to look at their cases.
