As an island impacted by global warming and in particular rising sea levels and hurricanes we should be a global leader in what is a virtuous project in so many ways:
Create jobs with residential and commercial solar installations including battery storage;
Provide financing arrangements for householders to install solar/batteries to reduce their energy bills including the repayment of the financing arrangement;
Build a windfarm offshore and create significant battery storage;
Electric cars and bikes;
Create opportunities for investors, including international business, pension providers and individuals to participate in providing finance to transform our energy infrastructure.
This could be a vision to bring everyone in Bermuda together and create a significant stimulus across the island and in all sectors of the economy.
With a vision for Bermuda to be the most environmentally friendly place on the planet we will become a beacon in the world and attract investment, tourists and business to our shores.
