One of the most important parts of this initiative in my view is to be able to track whether we are on target to meet the goal or have met the goal. To do so, comprehensive immigration and emigration data is essential. This could be incorporated into the Department of Immigrations Border Management System or via means such as Passports and/ or Border Control Cards/ Kiosks. Implementing this is a matter of urgency and will help complete the picture of real-time population counts taking into account births, deaths, immigrants and emigrants. Otherwise, how will we know how many people are living in Bermuda (and their demographic profile) each year in-between censuses?
