New Tourism Paradigm
From "Suggestions to stimulate economic recovery for Bermudians once Shelter in Place ends"

Once Bermuda is COVID-free, we will be a haven for wealthy tourists looking for somewhere safe to spend their summers, particularly since weekends in the Hamptons won't be an option. Let's encourage these people to come to Bermuda on charters and private jets. After they do a mandatory 2-week quarantine, they can then stay for the rest of the summer and live like the locals, eating at our restaurants, shopping at our stores, taking our buses and taxis, staying at our hotels, guest houses and private rentals and engaging in our local cultural activities. If we can figure out how to get people here safely and into an effective 2-week quarantine (maybe even hire people who have already had COVID to check in on those quaranteened or provide rides from the airport), we will finally be in a position to rival the Hamptons.
With regard to long term strategy, we need to encourage outside investment by premier boutique hoteliers in our hospitality industry in order to develop more luxury, modern boutique hotel options.
