The Government of Bermuda Home

Small business development

From "Suggestions to stimulate economic recovery for Bermudians once Shelter in Place ends"

Go to the project

Govt must take steps to assist people to start small businesses. Recently, govt approved borrowing funds from private pensions for people aged 65 or older. For the most part people that age may start a business but the motivation is often to keep busy as opposed to developing a robust company. Just want to keep busy and not have a lot of headaches. The same program should be expended to anyone with a private pension who wants to start or expand an existing business. This will allow people to start a business without one of the main stresses - debt. The establishment of small businesses will be crucial when we come out of this pandemic!
