The Government of Bermuda Home

Sociological Effects of Earthquakes (same as covid 19)

From "Suggestions to stimulate economic recovery for Bermudians once Shelter in Place ends"

Go to the project

With the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Government has taken an all hands on deck approach that encourages Bermudians of all walks of life to do their part to help Bermuda emerge safely into the post COVID-19 world. When it comes to the economy, there will need to be a major recovery effort to get Bermudians back to work, business reopened and our economy growing. We want to know what you think needs to happen to get our economy moving again after COVID-19.

Sociological Effects of Earthquakes

The Circum-Pacific belt is a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur. The Ring of Fire (also known as the Rim of Fire or the Circum-Pacific belt) is a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.

Less Economically Developed Country suffer the greatest loss of life from earthquakes. This is because buildings are not as strong and emergency services are not as efficient. The economic cost of earthquakes can be greater in MEDCs ( are countries which have a high standard of living and a large GDP) as the economic life of a MEDC suffers greater disruption.

Treat this pandemic just like an earthquake (just like that- a natural disaster)

Thanks !
