Subject: Proposal for Enhanced Beach Maintenance

I would like to bring attention to the current challenges we face in maintaining the beauty of our beaches regarding the tourism sector .
Presently, we rely on a single 20-year-old tractor, which experiences breakdowns for approximately five months each year due to various reasons, exacerbated by the unavailability of essential parts. Given the persistent issue of seaweed accumulation, I propose the acquisition of two tractors—one dedicated to the east end beaches and the other to the west end beaches.
The rationale behind this suggestion is to optimize efficiency by eliminating the need to transport a tractor for 45 minutes to Horseshoe Bay/Warwick Long Bay at 5:30 am, thus saving labor, energy, and fuel. I recommend stationing and servicing these tractors bi-monthly to ensure their optimal functionality.
A crucial concern arises from the prioritization of Horseshoe Bay in the event of widespread seaweed across the island. This leaves the east end neglected. To address this, a dedicated tractor for each region would enable simultaneous maintenance, preventing any area from being overlooked.
I believe that investing in these two tractors would significantly enhance our tourism product , beach maintenance efforts, ensuring a consistent and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and visitors alike.
Thank you for your consideration.
