A summary of the concept is as follows:
Centralize the payment functions of government departments in a similar fashion that Payroll Tax is collected.
Departments include:
- FISHERIES
- Water Section (W&E)
- IMMIGRATION
- All other departments who do not have online payment options.
The only option available for some departments include direct deposit but this is less efficient than a direct payment feature and it is unknown why one government would have so many different manners of receiving payments rather than putting the onus on the consumer. In this digital age, there should be more online options that can incorporate accessibility for seniors and those others who may not have online access or IT literacy and have a consolidated location such as the post office which has been the subject of various government surveys over the past few years.
COVID19 will likely be the catalyst for many of the suggestions that are similar, if not, the government will not collect revenue during these trying times.
