Citizenship by Investment

Cory Powell•6 years ago Similar to St. Kitts and Nevis (SK&N) or other citizenship plans elsewhere, whereby foreign investment instantly generates income by way of citizenship buy in program. Due to our size our rates would be higher than the SK&N plan while also fewer applicants would be potentially be granted. Say $2-4 mil for lifetime or limited citizenship along with purchase of home valued at no less than 2 mil. Limit applicants to 200. This would add direct monetary influx to all industries (restaurant and service lines) as well as paying down our debt and support for government initiatives. https://bluemina.com/citizenship-by-investment/saint-kitts-nevis/?utm_source=G_brand_ads&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=9705928267&utm_content=427169638521&utm_term=&adgroupid=100899396458&network=g&device=c&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpLGj7auL6QIVh43ICh3sGAsxEAAYASAAEgLqUPD_BwE

Remove Divisiveness & Promote Inclusiveness

Cory Powell•6 years ago We've been through a particularity divisive, painful and destructive time over the past 30+ years due to political and personal agendas being played out by some. If Bermuda is going to survive at all, let alone thrive, moving forward we have to expose and denounce these divisions and move forward as one collective society. No plan, pursuit or invention will work unless this is done, period! If we come out of this with the continued prejudicial stereotyping, dog whistling, political/personal divisiveness and race baiting to perpetuate an ongoing agenda of Us vs. Them then there is no point in devising any other plan than to plan of living elsewhere.Bring our community together and move forward united with investment in sustainable local fisheries, farming, eco tourism, international sports, music and arts expansion, and community programs that help support each other given the hard times expected globally post pandemic.

Science & Religion

Cory Powell•6 years ago Expand Science research and study within the schools.Tax Churches.

Cannabis & Other Research Development

Cory Powell•6 years ago Given the strong science being generated globally in immunity boosting research and pain management within the Cannabis sphere, and the current/future needs arising from the pandemic as a result it may be wise to dig deeper into allowing scientific research and study facilities to be expanded on island with tax incentive plans. This could also help provide a platform for future development and export of Bermuda branded Cannabis strains to both the medical and recreational markets globally. Introduce New Trade School & Prisoner Support Initiatives

Cory Powell•6 years ago Trade School: Open a new trade school at the Bermuda Regiment that trades a 1 - 2 year study of various skills at no cost (masonry, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanics etc) for a 3-5 year commitment (at reasonable days and times monthly) to duty in the Regiment. Seek investment from the corporate and private sector to support the curriculum expenses. Practical experiences can support the regiments own as well as all gov facilities. CAOB oversees the course outline and introduces/expands their construction safety programs as part of the plans. Adds more use of the regiment facility and better support during times of need, while also enhancing our desperately needed trades sector and expands CAOB's reach and effectiveness toward trades and safety.Prisoners: Create an incentive program for prisoners to work within the community safely on various projects. Such as: road side clean up crews, community carpentry works, vehicle mechanics, trail development, parkland clearing and maintenance, assistance to W&E where needed etc.

Other Ideas

Cory Powell•6 years ago Bring tech minds to the table and see if there is any advantage in creating a Silicone Valley model of tech advancements and investments (maybe Sargasso Seas) here in Bermuda. Perhaps smaller foot prints (Cross Island, Lantana, South side, Harmony Hall etc) whereby research and development can thrive with tax and location incentives. Invest in Hamilton Waterfront Development and pedestrianization? Seek PPP investment WITHOUT selling the city to a private developer!Expand Community Gardens. Creates sustainable supply of homegrown food sources, while also being known to help curb certain stresses and anxiety? Brings communities together.Research and development into the environmental areas? Attracts global interest and investment as well as helps our own environments sustainability. Is there any opportunity by way of investment to attack the lion fish population with mass culling and industry export for income? Or at least local consumption increase? Given the global economic impacts on the horizon our own locally sourced food supply via fisheries in general will be needed.Any/All of this will depend on reactions to my previous feedback surrounding inclusiveness over divisiveness.
