My business was Reid Street Extension, do definitely doesn't help me, but a potential great idea!

Anne Marie Forbes6 years ago With great uncertainty, comes great opportunity for the people of Bermuda. Firstly, I would like to greatly thank and commend you and your team in your handling of the Covid-19 situation. Once the necessary restrictions are lifted, we are looking at a new Bermuda norm. I believe there is an opportunity for Bermudians to become majority workforce in the hospitality industry and I have the solution to make that happen. The demand on the front street restaurants will take a significant time to recover and we have state of the art underused kitchens. This pandemic will leave many Bermudians without employment, while many in Bermuda still want to enjoy the variety and quality of delicious world food that we have become used to. Long term, many foreign chefs will leave and with high unemployment, the government will ethically struggle to approve replacement work permits. The hotel college was closed many years ago. 1st SOLUTION – Culinary Arts Courses to train our next Chefs. The current amazing chefs in each restaurant become the instructors in their dishes. It is likely that the Government doesn’t have the head space or capacity to create a wide-ranging Diploma in Culinary Arts and the College will be overwhelmed with more students staying on island to study. 2nd SOLUTION – Bermuda has just repatriated many extremely intelligent under graduates. It is unlikely that they will have culinary experience, but throw a lot of young, enthusiastic and intelligent minds together with experienced culinary & teaching supervision, they will coordinate the logistic and create an amazing program.
