Kristen C3 years ago I think this is a wonderful goal for our island to aspire towards but I do believe it will not come easily nor without its challenges.Government will need to involve discussions with all parties due to be affected by this change. Car dealers, TCD, Gas Stations + of course the public / car owners.I believe a gradual change allow the current “choice” in car sales is a great place to start. We can’t expect to go from 0-100. Why not offer more incentive to the consumer ready to buy a new car: what can we do to sway them to buy electric? Those who can currently afford it should be swayed into this decision!We need to START gaining zero emission clients now, before we turn it into the only optionHeavily discounted or free relicensing? Even if for the first 1-5 years? Offering duty free to auto dealers on electric models? So they can keep prices more competitive? A deal with BELCO for charging port set ups?I am not sure what the answers are. But I do believe a push for consumer choice to electric needs to be higher before we can confidently say we will become completely zero emissions as an entire countryThank you

Kristen C3 years ago I think sometimes small changes are overlooked, when over time they can truly have an outstanding impact!Jobs that are in desperate demand (hospitality, healthcare, F&B etc.) should be offered tuition free at Bermuda College or if possible scholarships to overseas facilities. This also piggy backs off our desperate need for school reforms. We need to clean up our education system for high schoolers!The restaurant industry is suffering but are having trouble with permits post pandemic. Could we explore more of the options similar to Australia that allow those of a certain age to come and work with no / easier permit approval? How is the remote work from Bermuda initiative going? Could we continue to promote this and put an age limitation on it?Local businesses would expand and hire more if they can afford it. What businesses can we help nourish? Retail industries are struggling yet they offer a great opportunity for individuals at median ages without post secondary education. When will we make duty relief for retailers to allow them to survive and expand. If we can’t decrease their duty could we increase for individual consumers to encourage shopping local?PRC / Expats who have been living + working in Bermuda for X + years should be allowed rights + their children who are born here who know no other home who would happily stay and live / work here if they could!?Thank you for taking everyone’s ideas into consideration xo
