Admiralty House Park Draft Management Plan: Public Consultation
The Government of Bermuda has prepared a draft Management Plan for Admiralty House Park to guide the future protection, use and development of this important public space.
Admiralty House Park is one of Bermuda’s most significant coastal parks, valued for its natural environment, historic heritage and role as a community recreation area. The updated plan provides a modern framework to ensure the park is managed in a way that balances conservation, heritage preservation and public access.
The draft plan sets out a long-term vision for Admiralty House Park as a place where history, nature and community life coexist sustainably.
Key priorities include protecting historic structures and naval heritage, conserving native habitats, improving safety and accessibility, and enhancing visitor facilities in an environmentally responsible way.
Environmental actions proposed in the plan include restoring native vegetation, managing invasive species, strengthening coastal resilience and promoting sustainable practices across park operations. The plan also outlines measures to protect sensitive ecosystems and respond to the impacts of climate change.
To improve the visitor experience, the plan identifies potential upgrades to pathways, signage, safety features and amenities, with an emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility. Enhancements are intended to support safe, low-impact recreation while safeguarding the park’s natural and historic assets.
